From acers to alliums, here’s a brisk walk through my gloriously overgrown June garden. Roses are shouting, delphiniums are dancing, and even the peas are performing.
What a beautiful read Elliot! I’m with you, let there be floof! I had no idea shrub roses could get so tall and I’m reluctant to cut them back. Emily Brontë looks so romantic towering over my hydrangeas this year. I’m thinking of replacing the lawn too😊
Wow. I needed that, Elliot! Your words are like a refreshing horticultural waterfall…in advance of the upcoming brutal summer in the US South! Thank you! I await your next missive!
Haha! Floof away! Yes, mine are towering this year. That mild spring sent them all tall and floppy. Very relaxed and romantic though. Replacing the lawn? Well, you probably know my thoughts on that… grass be gone!
Such a beautiful landscape. Love all the descriptions about what you have planted.
Thank you! Very much appreciated!
A lovely ramble Elliot and I shall look forward to the next one. 💚
Ah, thank you very much!
A lovely guided tour through the garden. I can feel the crunch of gravel underfoot and almost smell those roses. A masterpiece of writing.
Thank you so much! That’s really very kind!

Such a lovely compliment! Thank you! The next mini-newsletter is about watering. I’d be interested to know what you make of it being in the US South.
